We ran a successful workshop on meta-analysis and network meta-analysis. It was three days of intense sessions mixing teaching theory and hands-on analysis of actual data. Post-workshop information and pictures are available on the corresponding photos page.
Mateen Shaikh earned an Outstanding Oral Presentation Award for his presentation during the 2015 Faculty of Health Sciences Research Plenary. We are proud of his achievement!
Contratulations to Regina Kampo, who successfully defended her thesis on the effect of contamination in a meta-analysis. SIGMA is very proud of her accomplishment and contribution to the field.
A joint effort by many members of SIGMA, an analysis of available R packages for network meta-analysis has been accepted for publication in PLOS ONE. Details can be found in the publications page.
A manuscript by Mateen Shaikh and Joseph Beyene has recently been accepted. The paper to appear in Statistical Applications in Genetics and Molecular Biology provides a novel approach to testing genotype-phenotype relationships using association rules. Details can be found on the publications page.
Tadelle Kibret’s manuscript discussing the bias in identifying the best treatment has been published in Clinical Epidemiology. Details can be found on the publications page.
Joseph Beyene’s work on longitudinal analysis in GWAS has been accepted for publication in Genetic Epidemiology. Details can be found on the publications page.
Dr. Joseph Beyene was recently featured by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) on his research program related to a CIHR grant he holds entitled: “Data Integration in Genetics and Genomics”.
We are happy to announce that Danielle Richer has joined SIGMA as a Research Assistant. We look forward to having her in the lab in this new role!
