Welcome to the webpage for our Workshop on “Meta-Analysis & Network Meta-Analysis: Concepts, Methods, and Applications”.
Our three-day workshop on meta-analysis techniques will start by covering basic conventional (pairwise) meta-analysis, and special cases of it, before spending the majority of the workshop covering the ins and outs of network meta-analysis. In an intuitive manner, on top of the basic concepts, we will teach the statistical models that underlie these diverse techniques, providing attendees a richer, deeper understanding of what goes on “under the hood”, how it affects the results we obtain, and ultimately our conclusions. Attendees will break out into small-group hands-on tutorial sessions and be guided through conducting meta-analysis and network meta-analysis in the freely available R software language.
Where: Michael G. DeGroote Center for Learning and Discovery, McMaster University, 1280 Main St W, Hamilton, ON L8S 4L8
When: May 25 – 27, 2016
Target Audience: Clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, and policy makers interested in meta-analysis and network meta-analysis.
Assumed Knowledge and Materials: A basic understanding of common statistical concepts (e.g., confidence intervals and hypothesis tests) and, though not essential, some prior knowledge of meta-analytic concepts. Participants should bring a laptop to engage in the hands-on components to our workshop.
